Moisture Measurement in Wood Bioenergy Magazine
MoistTech Corp. provides the world’s leading state-of-the-art Near-Infrared (NIR) moisture sensor for the industrial manufacturing industry. Insensitive to material variations such as particle size, material height & color, the 3000 series sensors provide continuous, reliable readings. Production efficiency improvements due to accurate real-time measurements provide both energy savings and potential increased productivity with lower material losses; the Wood Bioenergy industry is an application we have great experience with.
Benefits of Wood Moisture Analysis
- 100% Product Inspection
- Reduced Energy Usage
- High Quality Product Through Instant and Accurate Moisture Control
- Less Downtime and Waste
- Reduction in Fire and Explosion Risk
- Lower Energy Costs
- Reduced Start-up Times
- High Performance Operation
With MoistTech’s NIR moisture sensor, wood product manufacturers can adjust moisture levels on real time information, lowering raw materials and fuel costs, higher yields and more uniform products. Moisture control will become even more vital as mills begin to expand their production to include niche products and processing requirements become more stringent.
The MoistTech staff is experienced with the wood product moisture sensing requirements in the manufacturing process. We pre-calibrate all sensors, measure wavelengths, algorithms and sensor optical requirements at our factory. Typical accuracy is about +/- 0.1% moisture. Typical analog reading is 0-20% moisture. The outputs can be adjusted to optimize PLC or recording requirements.
868 Lab Sensor
Ideal for laboratories or near processing lines MoistTech’s 868 Sensor features a removable, rotating sampling dish, available in a variety of sizes that was designed for rapid moisture determination of non-homogeneous products and raw materials. Due to the large sample size, the 868 has greater accuracy of any other laboratory NIR sensor on the market within.01% and as fast as 3 seconds
