Brick Mixture Moisture

Superior Moisture Control

Keeping the elements ideal during the production of brick mixing is very important and moisture levels play an integral role in the process.

Here at MoistTech, we know the requirements needed to successfully produce brick mixtures. We pre–set our sensor calibrations, measurement wavelengths, algorithms and sensor optical requirements at the factory. Accuracy is typically about ±0.1% moisture. Typical analog range is 5–15% moisture. The outputs can be adjusted to optimize PLC or recording requirements.

Measure Today With Unparalleled Precision

PERFORMANCE

Unsurpassed in performance, our sensors can accurately measure  moisture within tenths of a percent of most applications

STABILITY

MoistTech sensors withstand the test of time and are low to zero maintenance

RELIABILITY

Rely on MoistTech’s NIR moisture sensors to never drift or need re-calibration

COST OF OWNERSHIP

A moisture measurement system is essential for the production process and in some cases will pay for itself in less than 30 days

Brick Moisture Testing Benefits

Efficiency is a top of the line priority for manufacturers and the dryer can drain a lot of that. Moisture measurement and proper control during production can lead to many benefits that ultimately save time, money and energy:

  • Product Quality
  • Lessened Energy Costs
  • Shorter Start-Up Times
  • Less Waste
  • 100% Product Inspection
  • Reduced Downtime

What is the Solution?

The team at MoistTech has 40 years of knowledge and experience and they have developed the IR–3000 moisture sensor, which can measure the brick mixture moisture levels in the production process. A manufacturer can set the sensor to monitor the production manually or automatically.

The MoistTech brick mixture moisture sensor should be mounted slightly above the conveyor to ensure each step in the creation process is successful.

Dust from the brick mixtures does not typically create a problem; however, in dusty environments we recommend installing the air purge system. The air purge system prevents buildup on the sensor window.

Assess

Locate the point in the production process in which measuring moisture will be the most crucial and beneficial. Identify how you will use the moisture measurement data for improvements and if it will tie into your PLC.

Remember this could involve more than one installation point!

Develop

A closed loop process is achieved by incorporating a moisture measurement system into the manufacturing process. Developing a proactive solution to moisture control will avoid costly downfalls.

Support

MoistTech’s experts will assess your specific application with lab tests, calibrations and accuracy results to ensure our equipment will peform for you. All of our sensors are pre-calibrated prior to being shipped to create a plug-and-play operation for the end-user.

Understand the Process

The moisture content of the brick mixture is crucial to produce a quality end product with consistent results in every batch. The correct water to aggregate ratio allows for dense compaction of the clay and the brick will release easily from the mold. Too little moisture allows the brick to crumble; too much moisture causes instability.

Using the IR-3000, you’ll save money throughout the entire production process, while making the best quality product at the same time. With MoistTech, you don’t need to compromise.
