Cereal
Moisture Sensor
Have questions about our Moisture Sensors?
|
Highly accurate cereal moisture levels have become critical
components during the various stages of cereal manufacturing
process. Cereal can easily become either too wet or dry wasting
manufacturer's time and money as well as impacting the quality
of the end product.
With the help of industry partners and 30 years of knowledge,
MoistTech has proudly developed the IR-3000 Moisture Sensor
that is ideally suited to measure the cereal moisture levels
in all stages of your cereal manufacturing process.
The sensor is coated in a food grade material with a polymer
optical window allowing manufacturers to improve product quality
and monitor cereal moisture continuously.
Installation
By installing the MoistTech cereal moisture sensor at the
exit of the ovens, a manufacturer can continuously monitor
the process and can control the cereal moisture content either
manually or automatically in the finished product.
However, by also installing them after cookers, milling locations
and/or cooling tunnels, the quality of the product and efficiency
of the process can significantly be increased.
To accurately measure the cereal moisture levels, the sensor
should be installed over the conveyor transporting the cereal.
The sensor should be mounted several inches above the belt,
screw conveyor or any area where the material can be viewed.
Benefits
- improved product quality
- lower energy costs
- reduced start-up times
- less waste
- 100% product inspection
- less downtime
MoistTech's professional staff is very experienced
with the requirements in the production of cereal. Our sensor
calibrations, measurement wavelengths, algorithms and sensor
optical requirements are pre-set at the factory. Typical accuracy
is about ±0.1% moisture. Typical analog range is 0-10% moisture
and up to as much as 40%, subject to application. The outputs
can be adjusted to optimize PLC or recording requirements.
