Moisture - Testing, Measurement and Control
Having
the correct moisture levels in silica (silicon dioxide) mixtures has become
a critical component during the various stages of glass production.
The silica (silicon dioxide) mixtures can
easily become either too wet or dry wasting manufacturer’s time and money
as well as impacting the quality of the end product.
With the help of industry partners and
more than 30 years of knowledge and experience, your MoistTech staff has
developed the IR-3000 Glass Moisture Sensor
that is ideally suited to measure the moisture levels in the glass making
process.
Installation….
The IR-3000 Glass
Moisture Sensor should be mounted several inches above the conveyor,
before and after the dryer will allow the user to continuously monitor
the process and can control the glass moisture content either manually
or automatically in the glass making process.
Environment….
If the IR-3000
Glass Moisture Sensor has to be installed close to the dryer
outlet where it will be susceptible to extreme heat conditions, it is necessary
to cool the sensor with either air or water.

Your professional MoistTech staff is very
experienced with the requirements in the production of the glass making
process. Our sensor calibrations, measurement wavelengths, algorithms
and sensor optical requirements are pre-set at the factory. Typical
accuracy is about ±0.1% moisture. Typical analog range is 1-10%
moisture. The outputs can be adjusted to optimize PLC or recording
requirements.
