Having
the correct levels of moisture in sand in the processing of mixtures has
become a critical component during the various stages of production, such
as with glass manufacturing.
The sand mixtures can easily become either
too wet or dry wasting manufacturer’s time and money as well as impacting
the quality of the end product.

the IR-3000 Sand Moisture Sensor that
is ideally suited to measure the levels of moisture in sand in any manufacturing
process.
Installation….
The IR-3000 Sand
Moisture Sensor should be mounted several inches above the conveyor,
before and after the dryer. This will allow the user to continuously
monitor the process and can control the glass moisture content either manually
or automatically in the manufacturing process.
Environment….
If the IR-3000
Sand Moisture Sensor has to be installed close to the dryer
outlet where it will be susceptible to extreme heat conditions, it is necessary
to cool the sensor with either air or water.

Your MoistTech team is very experienced
with the requirements in most production processes where the moisture in
sand must be precisely controlled. Our sensor calibrations, measurement
wavelengths, algorithms and sensor optical requirements are pre-set at
the factory. Typical accuracy is about ±0.1% moisture. Typical
analog range is 1-10% moisture. The outputs can be adjusted to optimize
PLC or recording requirements.
