Trash Moisture

Monitor Moisture During the Process

Trash is a good bio energy source, but it is composed of 85-95% moisture. To prevent spoilage, this must be reduced to 10-15% for organic materials included in the trash. Some cities like Edmonton, Alberta, are converting the municipal waste into ethanol. Biofuels have increased interest and popularity because of the rising oil prices and the uncertainty of the energy supply.

Constant monitoring during production with thousands of measurements per second can optimize the on-line process and will dramatically:

  • Improve product quality
  • Provide energy savings
  • Increase productivity
  • Decrease production costs

STABILITY

MoistTech sensors withstand the test of time and are low to zero maintenance

RELIABILITY

Rely on MoistTech’s NIR moisture sensors to never drift or need re-calibration

COST OF OWNERSHIP

A moisture measurement system is essential for the production process and in some cases will pay for itself in less than 30 days

MoistTech’s IR3000

In recent years, MoistTech partnered with industry to develop a new type of moisture sensor that would stand head and shoulders above the competition. This sensor is the state-of-the-art IR-3000 near infrared (NIR) that allows installation in the most extreme locations. It mounts above the conveyor belt to send continuous moisture levels to the network. The IR-3000 is highly accurate, dependable, rugged and durable. It is preset at the factory and requires no further maintenance calibrations.

The IR-3000 stands apart because its software can handle small gaps in materials, unlike the competition. It can also ignore inert material, foreign objects, and belt or screw conveyors to make this the most accurate true moisture reading available.

What is the Solution?

MoistTech has studied moisture and its applications in manufacturing for over 40 years. That’s why we’re confident our moisture analyzers are a step above the rest. We’re constantly working to develop the latest, most advanced moisture testing technology—which is how the IR-3000 came about.

We’ve combined our decades of experience and knowledge with feedback from our industry partners to create a moisture sensor capable of taking instant, non-contact measurements of moisture, temperature, and other vital levels with the utmost accuracy. When it comes to moisture sensors, the IR-3000 is the most advanced system available.

Assess

Locate the point in the production process in which measuring moisture will be the most crucial and beneficial. Identify how you will use the moisture measurement data for improvements and if it will tie into your PLC.

Remember this could involve more than one installation point!

Develop

A closed loop process is achieved by incorporating a moisture measurement system into the manufacturing process. Developing a proactive solution to moisture control will avoid costly downfalls.

Support

MoistTech’s experts will assess your specific application with lab tests, calibrations and accuracy results to ensure our equipment will peform for you. All of our sensors are pre-calibrated prior to being shipped to create a plug-and-play operation for the end-user.

Understand the Process

Moisture is important in any manufacturing process, but when it comes to hog fuel, waste fiber, wood chips, pellets, saw dust, shavings, and forest waste, excess moisture can ruin products. And what’s worse than a wasted effort? Economical losses and decreased productivity. But with today’s new technology, moisture levels are easy to control. Here at MoistTech, we’ve created the IR 3000 moisture sensor, which is a non-contact form of monitoring moisture.
