Accurate Moisture Control

When the moisture in nylon pellets and other resins are normally measured, it’s the temperature and the dew point of the hot, dry air responsible for drying that is measured, not the actual moisture in the nylon. This does not allow for measuring the initial or final absolute moisture level in the pellets. Controlling the moisture levels in nylon pellets is essential for ensuring that the end product is at its highest quality. A sensor from MoistTech takes the guesswork out of calculating moisture levels from nylon pellets during every stage of production.

Our IR-3000 takes instant and continuous moisture readings of your nylon pellets without contact. It can also measure temperature, chemical composition, coating thickness, and other important variables quickly and easily. Typical moisture accuracy is about ± 0.05%, with coating accuracy varying from 0.1 to 0.01 microns, depending on the coating type. A typical analog range is 0-10% moisture. The outputs can be adjusted to optimize recording requirements or PLC.
