Flakeboard Moisture
Unsurpassed Performance
Flakeboard, an engineered wood, is categorized based on the initial state of the wood material before being transformed into boards. It is manufactured using the shavings and flakes obtained from wood at sawmills. The forest industry initially introduced flakeboard production as a means of effectively utilizing the wood remnants that were previously discarded by mills.
Flakeboard is commonly utilized in constructing cabinet side and rear walls. While countertops can be crafted from flakeboard, engineered-wood countertops made from particle or fiber board with a vinyl laminate are more common due to the limitations posed by wood shavings.
When moisture levels run too high, raw materials are damaged leading to waste and higher production costs. Downtime of workers also contributes to higher costs. Instead, with the right moisture sensor, we can help you increase productivity and even lower your energy costs.
After a one-time calibration, our sensors — which can be calibrated for any application — are maintenance-free.

What Is the Solution?
We’ve combined our decades of experience and knowledge with feedback from our industry partners to create a moisture sensor capable of taking instant, non-contact measurements of moisture, temperature, and other vital levels with the utmost accuracy. When it comes to moisture sensors, the IR-3000 is the most advanced system available.
Assess
Locate the point in the production process in which measuring fiber board moisture will be the most crucial and beneficial. Identify how you will use the moisture measurement data for improvements and if it will tie into your PLC.
Remember this could involve more than one installation point!
