Sheetrock Moisture

Quality, Efficiency & Profits

Modern drywall is adaptable to maximize fire-retardant strength, reduce mold, and control moisture in the house. However, that process cannot start without first controlling the moisture through the entire manufacturing process from delivery of raw materials to delivery to the construction site or home supply store. Monitor sheetrock moisture levels throughout the production process with MoistTech’s IR3000.

Sheetrock is formed by compressing gypsum between thick sheets of paper. Gypsum, mined throughout the world, contains water in its crystalline form. The two molecules of water per complete compound of gypsum gives drywall its fire retardant properties: as a wall burns, the gypsum releases its moisture thus helping to contain the fire. 10 square feet of gypsum board contain over 2 quarts of water.

Paper, the other major component in sheetrock moisture consistency, is also key in creating, transporting and installing drywall. MoistTech has over 40 years of experience helping the paper and gypsum industries maximize the quality of their products and minimize the waste and lost materials. Combining the experience learned in both these two fields makes MoistTech the perfect company with the perfect tool to create a quality supply chain for Sheetrock.

Compare Current Method for 30 Days!

non-contact

Our equipment never comes into contact with the product, allowing for less waste

zero drift

Our sensors are guaranteed not to drift over time – which saves time and money

closed loop

Create a closed-loop process by tying a moisture sensor into your PLC. Full control over the line!

no recalibrations

We’ve mastered the art of moisture sensors – your unit will never need to be recalibrated for the same product twice!

MoistTech’s Solution

MoistTech has studied moisture and its applications in manufacturing for over 40 years. That’s why we’re confident our moisture analyzers are a step above the rest. We’re constantly working to develop the latest, most advanced moisture testing technology—which is how the IR-3000 came about.

Installation Points

Locate the point in the production process in which measuring moisture will be the most crucial and beneficial. Identify how you will use the moisture measurement data for improvements and if it will tie into your PLC.

Remember this could involve more than one installation point!
