Glass Applications

Proven Technology

Having the correct moisture levels in silica (silicon dioxide) mixtures has often dictates the product quality outcome of glass production. The silica mixtures are very susceptible to being too wet or dry, wasting manufacturer’s time and money as well as impacting the quality of the end product.

MoistTech engineers have developed a line of NIR moisture sensors that can be used online or offline to be sure that the moisture level is not out of bounds. An online sensor can transmit digital or analog signals to your computer from the manufacturing line in real time using either an RS232 or Ethernet connection. There the software can make alarms or adjustments that help keep your line moving to create a product that can pass QA. An offline sensor comes with a base and stand that is perfect for your lab, fieldwork, or QA testing. With fast, accurate readings your staff can pinpoint problems quickly.

Optimize Production: Instant ROI

CULLET

The IR-3000 accurately tests the moisture content of glass cullet and cullet products. And with accurate moisture testing and regulation, you’ll be able to create a top-quality end product. Not only will you achieve better results, but your product costs will decrease as well. The IR-3000 is energy efficient and low maintenance; it reduces start-up and downtime. You won’t find a better glass cullet moisture analyzer.

When processing glass cullet, moisture is important. But other levels must be measured, too, to achieve the highest quality end product. That’s why the IR-3000 measures much more than just moisture: temperature, water-based coatings, chemical composition – all of these and more are tested using our instant, non-contact method.

The IR-3000 measures moisture in % dry and % wet, allowing you to regulate moisture content either automatically or manually.

LAMINATED GLASS

The IR-3000 measures moisture in % dry and % wet, allowing you to regulate moisture content either automatically or manually.

non-contact

Our equipment never comes into contact with the product, allowing for less waste

zero drift

Our sensors are guaranteed not to drift over time – which saves time and money

closed loop

Create a closed-loop process by tying a moisture sensor into your PLC. Full control over the line!

no recalibrations

We’ve mastered the art of moisture sensors – your unit will never need to be recalibrated for the same product twice!

What is the Solution?

MoistTech has studied moisture and its applications in manufacturing for over 40 years. That’s why we’re confident our moisture analyzers are a step above the rest. We’re constantly working to develop the latest, most advanced moisture testing technology—which is how the IR-3000 came about.

Installation Points

The IR-3000 glass moisture sensor should be mounted several inches above the conveyor, before and after the dryer will allow the user to continuously monitor the process and can control the glass moisture content either manually or automatically in the glass making process.

If the IR-3000 has to be installed close to the dryer outlet where it will be susceptible to extreme heat conditions, it is necessary to cool the sensor with either air or water.
