Additionally, small variations and excess moisture in mixes can result clumping affecting quality and consistencies. Too dry of a product can result in excess dust. Measuring moisture prior to crushing can control particle size and provide dust suppression. During the drying stage, in-process measurements ensure optimization and elimination of over drying. MoistTech’s Solution

The intelligent pre-processing of the measurement values (300+ per second) allows for smooth average values, adjustable filters. Up to 50 standard calibration curves can be stored in the sensor. Three self-powered analog outputs 4-20mA, allow for the easy connection to control system. MoistTech includes very advanced PC software at no charge with connections via Ethernet or RS232/485.

Installation Points

MoistTech’s NIR moisture sensors are easy to set-up and use which will provide instant and precise measurements due to no constituent losses in handling. We recommend installing sensor(s) in several locations though out the process. A sensor should be installed over the conveyor before the final crusher to enable elimination of impurities, as well as at the exit of the final crusher or dryer, to prevent over drying and dust.

Efficiency is a top of the line priority for manufacturers and the dryer can drain a lot of that. Measuring the moisture before and after the dryer allows the user to optimize the dryer settings to save time and money. A proper moisture control system will pay for itself with the energy savings from the dryer in less than 30 days.
