When the moisture in nylon pellets and other resins are normally measured, it’s the temperature and the dew point of the hot, dry air responsible for drying that is measured, not the actual moisture in the nylon. This does not allow for measuring the initial or final absolute moisture level in the pellets. Controlling the moisture levels in nylon pellets is essential for ensuring that the end product is at its highest quality. The sensor is preset before it’s shipped, so it requires no calibration maintenance.

Typical moisture accuracy is about ± 0.05%, with coating accuracy varying from 0.1 to 0.01 micron, depending on the coating type. A typical analog range is 0-10% moisture. The outputs can be adjusted to optimize recording requirements or PLC.
