Nylon Moisture Pellets
When the moisture in nylon pellets and other resins are normally measured, it’s the temperature and the dew point of the hot, dry air responsible for drying that is measured, not the actual moisture in the nylon. This does not allow for measuring the initial or final absolute moisture level in the pellets. Controlling the moisture levels in nylon pellets is essential for ensuring that the end product is at its highest quality. A sensor from MoistTech takes the guesswork out of calculating moisture levels from nylon pellets during every stage of production.
Measure Moisture in Nylon Pellets with MoistTech
For over 40 years, MoistTech has been researching and studying moisture and its effects on materials and production during the manufacturing process. Our mission is to provide the latest in moisture testing technology. With input from our experienced industry partners, we are able to produce near infrared (NIR) sensors and gauges to give you the most accurate and repeatable moisture measurements. Our IR-3000 takes instant and continuous moisture readings of your nylon pellets without contact. It can also measure temperature, chemical composition, coating thickness, and other important variables quickly and easily.
The IR-3000 Makes Controlling Moisture Levels Easy
Better, more accurate sensor readings allow you to use the correct amount of time and resources while manufacturing. This alone will reduce production costs and help you be more efficient. Accurate and reliable, the IR-3000 records thousands of reading per second. It is able to outperform because it is durable and stable. Unlike other sensors, the IR-3000 is able to take both bulk measurements and measurements of small gaps in material. The sensor is preset before it’s shipped, so it requires no calibration maintenance.
Typical moisture accuracy is about ± 0.05%, with coating accuracy varying from 0.1 to 0.01 micron, depending on the coating type. A typical analog range is 0-10% moisture. The outputs can be adjusted to optimize recording requirements or PLC.
